If you have a dog or a busy front hall, the number worth knowing on Amber Oak (00820) is the 12 mil wear layer, the clear top coat that takes the scratching before the print underneath does. Shaw Floors finishes it with ArmourBead and micro bevels the edges of every 7 inch by 48 inch plank. The body of the board is SPC at 4.8 mm, a stone-composite core that holds its shape as the seasons change and does not mind water, so kitchens and below grade rooms are fine. The attached EVA pad saves buying underlay. Each carton covers 18.67 sq ft, and production is in Vietnam. 22FLOORING supplies and installs Amber Oak across Toronto and the GTA, with vinyl installation from $3.20 per square foot.
