Bison (03000), from Shaw's Mendocino style 200SA, is a real maple floor you can put in a basement: Shaw approves it below grade as well as on and above, and it is radiant heat compatible. On a concrete slab, gluing or floating are the usual routes, and nailing or stapling are available on wood subfloors upstairs. Its engineered plank measures 6.38″ by 10″ to 58.5″, 3/8″ deep, under a 1.2 mm maple face. Bison has a scraped surface, pillowed edges and a 40% gloss level, with moderate colour variation. Shaw's Repel finish is water resistant, a sensible feature for a lower level.
