On our site this brand covers 378 engineered hardwood products in five groups. EPIC Plus is the largest with 143, then the Repel Collection with 102, The Gallery Collection with 86, Shaw Engineered Hardwoods with 38, and nine products outside a named collection.

The specs shift quite a bit between those groups. EPIC Plus and Repel lean on water-resistant Repel finishes in hickory, maple and oak, usually on a 1.2 mm veneer in 3/8" or 1/2" planks, which suits kitchens, family rooms and homes with pets. The Gallery Collection moves up to 9/16" and 5/8" boards with 3 mm or 4 mm veneers, a good match for big open living spaces. Shaw Engineered Hardwoods and the unnamed styles use a UV aluminum oxide finish in white oak, birch, hickory, plantation teak and eucalyptus. Widths across the brand run from 3" to 9.45". Almost every plank accepts nail, staple, glue or floating installs and carries an above, on or below grade rating.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Shaw flooring cost installed in Toronto?
Engineered hardwood is from $4.90 nailed or glued, including the glue and the nails, or $3.20 where it clicks and floats. Click vinyl is from $3.20 per square foot and glue-down from $5.50 with the glue included. Taking up your old floor is included, the floor itself is priced on top, and the figure is fixed in writing after a free in-home measure. Herringbone and chevron are quoted per job.

Can Shaw engineered hardwood be refinished?
It depends on the wear layer. A thicker veneer has enough wood above the tongue to take a sanding later; a thin one often has none. We read the spec sheet before telling you either way.

Can I see Shaw samples before I decide?
We bring samples out at the free in-home measure, which is the only honest way to judge a colour.

Do you install Shaw outside Toronto?
Yes. We cover Toronto and the GTA, and our crews go as far as Wasaga Beach, Niagara Falls and Castleton.
