Vidar Flooring

There are 125 Vidar engineered hardwood products on our site, in American Black Walnut, American White Oak, European Oak and European White Ash, with colours such as Naked Oak, Macaroon, Toffee Crunch and Provence. Veneers run from 2 mm to 4 mm. Many lines use ultra matte BONA UV lacquer, a micro bevel and wire brushed or smooth textures, and are listed as hydronic radiant heat compatible.

Walnut comes in the American Black Walnut 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11 Collections, up to 295 mm wide for big open rooms, plus a 7 1/2 inch American Black Walnut Collection. White oak planks come in the American Oak 6, 7 and 9 Collections, the slimmer 9/16 inch American White Oak 7 1/2” and 9” lines, and American Oak Click 5, a 13 mm click board for condos. European White Ash comes in 6, 7 and 7-1/2 lines, and European Oak 7 adds Rustic grade for family homes.

Nailed or glued Vidar is from $4.90 per square foot installed, including the glue and the nails, and the Click 5 collection floats from $3.20. Taking up your old floor is included and the floor itself is priced on top. Herringbone and chevron are quoted per job. You get a fixed written price after a free in-home measure.

What is Vidar flooring made of?
It is engineered hardwood, almost all of it American white oak, European white ash or European oak on a plywood core. That construction copes with Toronto's humidity swings better than solid wood and can go over concrete, which is why it suits condos and basements.

Do you carry Vidar herringbone?
Yes. Herringbone is quoted per job rather than by the square foot, because the layout and the cutting decide the labour. Send us the room size and we will price the floor and the fitting together.

Can I see Vidar samples before I decide?
Yes. We bring samples to the free in-home measure so you can see the boards in your own light, next to your walls and cabinets, rather than under showroom lighting.
