American Oak Herringbone Collection

This herringbone uses a 9/16 inch thick American White Oak board, thinner than Vidar's other white oak herringbone, which makes it easier to match heights where the floor meets tile or another room. Each piece is 5 inches wide, with a 3 mm oak veneer and a wirebrushed face.

Herringbone is laid as a zigzag of short boards, so the installer spends extra time squaring the pattern to the main wall before the first board goes down. The result draws the eye, and it works well in a front hall, dining room or formal living room. Grades are limited to Select and Select and Better, which keeps knots to a minimum so the pattern stays the focus. The wirebrushed texture helps disguise light scratches in a busy home.
