American Black Walnut 10 Collection

This walnut plank is 260 mm (10-¼ inches) wide and 18 mm thick, built as engineered multi-layer hardwood with a 3 mm dry sawn American Black Walnut top layer. A board this wide shows long runs of walnut grain and its natural colour shifts, so a living room or open main floor looks calmer than it would with narrow strips. The layered core also helps a wide plank stay flat as indoor humidity rises and falls through the year.

Vidar finishes the boards in BONA UV lacquer with a micro bevel. The texture can be smooth or wire brushed, and the gloss level is listed as smooth or ultra matte. Wire brushing and a low sheen are the better choice with dogs and kids, since fine scuffs blend in. Grades range from Character, with more knots and colour variation, to the cleaner Select and Select and Better. The planks are compatible with hydronic radiant heat.

Two colours are offered, Natural and Naked Walnut. 22FLOORING supplies and installs American Black Walnut 10 Collection across Toronto and the GTA, with engineered hardwood installation from $4.90 per square foot, including glue and nails.
