About the collection
Origins Flooring Engineered Hardwood
Origins Flooring has 25 engineered hardwood products on our site in five collections, and every one is a 3/4" thick board with a matte finish, micro-bevelled edges and a tongue and groove joint that is nailed or glued. All can go on, above or below grade, so one brand can cover a main floor and a finished basement.
The choice comes down to species and size. American Hickory (4 colours) is 6-1/2" wide, and hickory is a very hard species, a sensible pick for homes with dogs. Origins also carries European oak at 6-1/2" (4 colours) and 7-1/2" (6 colours), and American Walnut (5 colours) at 7-1/2". Origins XL (6 colours) has the longest boards, a 7-1/2" European oak in lengths from 20" to 83" with a light handscraped and wire brushed texture; the other lines are wirebrushed. Box coverage runs from 19.4 to 23.32 sq ft, and accessories are custom order across the range.
22FLOORING supplies and installs Origins Flooring across Toronto and the GTA, with engineered hardwood installation from $4.90 per square foot, including glue and nails.
Not every Origins collection suits every room. Our Origins flooring review says which to put in a basement, a kitchen or a bedroom, and what each costs installed.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Origins flooring cost installed in Toronto?
Engineered hardwood is from $4.90 nailed or glued, including the glue and the nails, or $3.20 where it clicks and floats. The floor itself is priced separately, and the figure is fixed in writing after a free in-home measure.
Can Origins engineered hardwood be refinished?
It depends on the wear layer. A thicker veneer has enough wood above the tongue to take a sanding later; a thin one often has none. We read the spec sheet before telling you either way.
Can I see Origins samples before I decide?
Samples come with us to the free in-home measure, so you can hold them against your own walls and cabinets.
Do you install Origins outside Toronto?
Yes. Toronto and the whole GTA, and for larger jobs as far out as Wasaga Beach, Niagara Falls and Castleton.
