American Hickory

Hickory is one of the hardest woods used for flooring, and Origins' American Hickory collection puts it into a 6-1/2" wide, 3/4" thick engineered board. Boards come in random lengths from 16" to 75", and the wirebrushed, matte surface with micro-bevelled edges hides the dents and scratches that dogs and busy kids leave behind. Hickory also has strong grain and colour variation, so each room ends up with plenty of movement.

The planks join with tongue and groove and can be nailed down or glued down. They are rated on, above or below grade: nailing suits a wood subfloor on the main or upper floors, while gluing is the route over concrete in a basement or condo. Each box covers 19.4 sq ft, and accessories are custom order, so plan stair nosings and trims early.

The four colours are Forest Trail, Greysmith, Nottingham and Warm Heritage. 22FLOORING supplies and installs American Hickory across Toronto and the GTA, with engineered hardwood installation from $4.90 per square foot, including glue and nails.
