Caramel is colour 07102 from Shaw Floors' Ensemble style, sold under The Gallery collection. On the surface it is white oak; underneath, it is an engineered board 1/2 inch thick topped with a 2 mm veneer. Installers have four options: nail, staple, glue or float. Over a concrete slab, gluing or floating is the usual route, while a house with a wood subfloor can be nailed or stapled. Boards are 7.48 inches wide in lengths from 15.75 to 74.8 inches, with micro bevelled edges and a wirebrushed face. The UV aluminum oxide finish is 7% gloss. Caramel works with radiant heat, is made in Vietnam, and is packed at 31.08 sq ft per carton. 22FLOORING supplies and installs Caramel across Toronto and the GTA, with engineered hardwood installation from $4.90 per square foot, including glue and nails.
