Highlands (02062) is engineered hickory that Shaw approves below grade, so a finished basement can have a real wood floor. The same plank also works on main and upper levels and over radiant heat. It is from the Castlewood Hickory style, SW486, within Shaw Floors' The Gallery collection. Each board has a 3 mm hickory veneer and measures 9/16″ thick, 7.48″ wide and 13.8″ to 74.8″ long. The surface is wirebrushed with micro bevel edges and a UV aluminum oxide finish at 10% gloss, and colour variation is high. Depending on the subfloor, we nail, staple, glue or float it.
