Morningside's wear layer is 20 mil, or 0.5 mm, the clear top layer that shields the design from scratches, a sound level for homes with children and pets. This Imperlux Series plank from Purelux is SPC, so the core is rigid and waterproof and suits kitchens and basements. Planks measure 1800 mm by 228 mm and are 7 mm thick, so fewer seams cross a room. The surface is EIR (embossed in register) with painted bevels. A 1.5 mm cork underlayment supports sound ratings of 72 IIC and 73 STC. Installation is floating, using a drop lock with 5G locking system.
