Purdy, from NAF Floors@Work, is engineered oak in an 18 mm thickness with a 168 mm face width. It is part of the NAF 18mm Eng. Oak Hardwood collection and comes in random lengths. Before we install any wood floor, we check the subfloor is flat, clean and dry, because gaps and squeaks usually start with a poor base rather than the boards. An engineered plank this thick gives a firm, stable result on main floors and upstairs bedrooms, and its layered construction handles changes in humidity better than solid lumber.
