For a smooth-surfaced hardwood that can go almost anywhere in the house, Sundrift (01177) from Shaw Floors' Bridgewater Eucalyptus style (SW790) is worth a look. It is engineered, with a 1.2 mm eucalyptus veneer on a 3/8″ plank, and it is rated above, on and below grade and over radiant heat. Boards measure 6.5″ wide in lengths from 17.5″ to 74.8″, with micro bevel edges. The UV aluminum oxide finish has a 6% gloss level. We can nail, staple or glue it down, or float it, which gives options over both concrete and wood subfloors. Colour variation is high.
