If you have pets, Grainfield Oak from Next Floor's ScratchMaster Organica 592 collection is worth a look. It comes with 10-year residential scratch, pet scratch and stain resistance warranties, plus lifetime coverage for waterproofing and against cupping. The core is resin-fused plant fiber with no PVC, and the embossed-in-register surface texture follows the printed grain. For condos and upper floors, the attached cushion matters: testing shows a sound transmission class of 63 and a high frequency impact insulation class of 90. The AC5 abrasion class is rated for heavy commercial traffic. The 8 mm planks use an angle-angle click, float over the subfloor and can go on any grade. Each carton holds 6 pieces covering 23.5 sq ft. 22FLOORING supplies and installs Grainfield Oak across Toronto and the GTA, with floating installation from $3.20 per square foot.
