Bali Merbau is made of PVC laminate, which is the reason it can go into a laundry room, a basement or a kitchen where a wood floor would be a risk. XL Flooring builds it as a 6 inch by 48 inch plank, 5 mm thick, its brushed emboss surface sitting under a 20 mil wear layer. Underneath is an acoustic absorbing backing, attached at the factory, so the floor sounds softer underfoot and needs nothing beneath it. A carton covers 20 square feet. XL warrants it a limited 20 years domestically and a limited 10 years in commercial rooms.
