Product Specifications
If you want real oak in a basement, Comet is worth a look. This Biyork engineered hardwood from the Nouveau 8 collection is rated for on, above or below grade floors, and it is compatible with radiant heat. The European oak boards are wide at 8-1/2", a full 3/4" thick, and up to 86" in length. Wirebrushing opens up the grain, and the character grade means knots are part of the look. Installation uses a tongue and groove system. Engineered construction, a real wood top over a layered core, holds its shape better than solid boards when humidity shifts. Comet comes with a 30-year residential warranty and FloorScore indoor air quality certification. 22FLOORING supplies and installs Comet across Toronto and the GTA, with engineered hardwood installation from $4.90 per square foot, including glue and nails.
