In the St. Petersburg style from Shaw Floors (SA427), Crescent Beach (01023) is a birch hardwood with a scraped surface that works in kitchens and family rooms. Scraping gives the surface an irregular, handcrafted character, so normal wear is less noticeable. The UV aluminum oxide finish is set at 20% gloss. Beneath it is an engineered plank 3/8″ thick with a 1.2 mm birch veneer, sized 5″ wide by 13.8″ to 47.24″ long with micro bevel edges. Colour variation is moderate. It is approved for radiant heat, for all grade levels, and for nail, staple, glue or floating installation.
