The species is white oak, and the 1.5 mm veneer over a 3/4" board makes it an engineered floor. Boards are 6-1/2" wide in random lengths, with a brushed texture and an ABC grade, so expect visible grain, some knots and gentle variation between planks. A pale floor like this keeps open living spaces bright. White Island is rated for on, above and below grade installation, basements included. Grandeur covers it with a 35-year residential limited warranty.
