Scandinavia

Scandinavia keeps things simple: brushed white oak in a mid-width board, with no smoking or scraping. Six of the seven colours are 6-1/2" wide, and St. Lucia is slightly narrower at 6". The boards are 3/4" thick and come in random lengths, graded ABC, except Barbados, which is ABCD and shows a little more natural character.

The white oak wear layer is 1.5 mm. That handles normal family traffic, but it leaves less wood for sanding, so plan on refreshing the finish over the years rather than sanding back to bare oak. The brushed surface helps here, since light scratches blend into the texture. Grandeur clears it for use on, above or below grade. Boxes are listed at 19.55 or 20.83 sq ft, and the limited warranty is 35-year residential.

Barbados, Santorini and White Island are the light choices in natural, blonde and beige. Sardinia and Tahiti sit in brown and taupe, Bora Bora adds dark grey, and St. Lucia is the darkest, with black in the mix. 22FLOORING supplies and installs Scandinavia across Toronto and the GTA, with engineered hardwood installation from $4.90 per square foot, including glue and nails.
