Metropolitan

With nine colours and three surface textures, Metropolitan covers a lot of ground for a white oak floor. Most of the range, Moon Frost, Santol, Moraine, Blue Mountain, Levee and Riverstone, is smoked and brushed. Rhine River and Champs Elysees have a deep-brushed texture with more pronounced grain, and Bedrock is hand scraped for the most rustic surface of the group.

Each board is 7-1/2" wide and 3/4" thick, laid in random lengths, graded ABCD and topped with 2 mm of white oak. That wear layer handles everyday living and can have its finish recoated, though it is not meant for repeated heavy sanding. Condos, basements and houses are all in play, since Metropolitan is approved on, above or below grade, and it has a 35 year residential limited warranty. Boxes cover 23.32 sq ft.

For bright rooms, Moon Frost, Santol, Moraine and Blue Mountain stay natural, blonde, beige and white. Levee, Bedrock, Riverstone and Rhine River are taupe and brown, and Champs Elysees mixes brown with natural. 22FLOORING supplies and installs Metropolitan across Toronto and the GTA, with engineered hardwood installation from $4.90 per square foot, including glue and nails.
