Natural is solid exotic walnut from NAF Floors@Work's HandScraped line, 18 mm (0.70") thick and 127 mm (5") wide in random lengths from 400 to 1200 mm. Exotic walnut is a hard species, 2030 on the Janka scale, which is why this floor copes with halls and living rooms that see children and dogs. The face is lightly handscraped under a UV coating at a 5 to 8% gloss, and board variation is high, so colour and grain change noticeably from one plank to the next. All four edges are micro-bevelled. It goes down as a tongue and groove floor, nailed, stapled or glued, and it is not suitable over hydronic radiant heat.
