Palm Beach carries a 20 mil wear layer, the clear top surface that takes the grinding from grit, chair legs and dog nails before the printed layer underneath is touched. That works out to 0.5 mm. The plank is SPC with a rigid stone-composite core, 5.5 mm thick in total, including the 1.5 mm EVA pad bonded to the underside. Because that core is waterproof, the floor is approved for all levels of the home, below grade as well as above. Its texture is embossed in register, so the grain you see lines up with the grain you feel, and micro-bevels outline every 5.83″ by 48″ board.
