For a basement or a main floor over concrete, Astor (01007) is a real white oak option. Shaw Floors lists this Fifth Avenue Oak colour (SW663) for above, on and below grade installation, glued down. It is engineered, with a 1.2 mm veneer on top. The boards are 1/2″ thick and 4.72″ wide, a modest width that works well in hallways, bedrooms and smaller rooms. A wirebrushed texture and a UV aluminum oxide finish with 7% gloss give a low-shine surface where light wear is less obvious. Micro bevel edges outline each plank, and colour variation is high, so no two boards match exactly.
