Sapele Mahogany is made from sapele, an African hardwood in the mahogany family, over an engineered core. The board is 15 mm thick in total with a 2.0 mm sapele wear layer, and it measures 1210 mm by 165 mm. The face is smooth rather than textured, which suits the fine grain of this wood and gives an even surface underfoot. A UV lacquer cured at the factory seals the timber, so there is no site finishing and no waiting for coats to dry.
