Richmond Flooring Review (2026)
An installer’s look at Richmond Flooring: 208 products across LVT, SPC and engineered hardwood, plus the tile-look ranges, and what they cost installed in Toronto.
Quick answer
Where the numbers come from
Every figure below comes from the spec sheets of the 208 Richmond Flooring products on our site as of September 2026. Where a sheet does not state something, we say so rather than fill the gap. We have not run our own wear tests and we do not give star ratings. Individual collections vary and every product page shows its own numbers.
The range side by side
The tile ranges are worth knowing about
Richmond is unusual among the vinyl brands we carry in having proper tile-format products – Stone Trends, Endeavour, CoreStone and FirmFit, in 12 by 24 inch pieces rather than planks. They are vinyl, not ceramic, and that is the point: you get a stone look in a bathroom or entry without the cold, the grout maintenance or the $13.50 per square foot that real tile installation costs.
They are also warmer underfoot and far more forgiving of a slightly uneven slab. What they are not is real stone, and up close nobody is fooled. In a laundry or a basement bathroom that trade is usually worth making.
Read the warranty carefully
93 sheets list a lifetime residential warranty, which sounds conclusive and mostly is not. A flooring warranty covers manufacturing defects – delamination, finish failure – not wear from use, not water damage from a leak, and never the installation. Our installation carries its own two-year warranty, which is the part that actually matters when something moves.
What to check before you buy
LVT or SPC. LVT is flexible and needs a flatter subfloor; SPC is rigid and bridges small imperfections better. Both sit under the Richmond name.
Glue or click. 42 sheets are glue-only, which is $2.30 per square foot more to fit than a floating floor.
The 3/4 inch hardwood. It raises your floor height more than a thinner board, which matters at doorways and appliances.
What it costs installed
Floating laminate and click vinyl are from $3.20 per square foot, glue-down vinyl from $5.50 including glue, and engineered hardwood nailed or glued from $4.90 including glue and nails. Engineered that only clicks and floats is from $3.20. Taking up your old floor is included, the floor itself is priced on top, and the full list is on our flooring installation cost page. For how we install it, see our page on vinyl flooring installation in Toronto.

Frequently asked questions
Is Richmond Flooring waterproof?
The LVT and SPC vinyl lines are built for wet areas and most sheets say so. The engineered hardwood is not a waterproof floor. Richmond covers both, so check the individual product page rather than assuming from the brand.
What is the difference between LVT and SPC?
LVT is a flexible vinyl plank; SPC has a rigid stone-polymer core. SPC is harder, more dimensionally stable and more forgiving of a slightly uneven subfloor. LVT is quieter and softer underfoot but wants a flatter floor beneath it.
Are the Richmond tiles real stone?
No. Stone Trends, Endeavour, CoreStone and FirmFit are vinyl in a 12 by 24 inch tile format. They give a stone look without the cold or the grout, and they cost far less to install than ceramic or porcelain, which we fit from $13.50 per square foot.
What does the lifetime warranty actually cover?
Manufacturing defects such as delamination or finish failure. It does not cover wear from normal use, water damage from a leak, or the installation itself. Our installation carries a separate two-year warranty.
Can Richmond hardwood be refinished?
It depends on the veneer thickness of the collection, and the sheets do not always state it. Ask us about the specific product before counting on refinishing it – we would rather check than promise.
