Riche Flooring Review (2026)
An installer’s look at Riche Flooring: 126 vinyl products in 8, 9 and 10 mm, wear layers from 12 to 20 mil, and what they cost installed in Toronto.
Quick answer
Where the numbers come from
Every figure below comes from the spec sheets of the 126 Riche products on our site as of September 2026. Where a sheet does not state something, we say so rather than fill the gap. We have not run our own wear tests and we do not give star ratings.
The range side by side
The collection names are places, not availability
Riche names its collections after Canadian cities. The Toronto Collection is simply the largest at 42 products; it is not made here and the Vancouver Collection is not a west-coast-only product. Every collection is available to you in the GTA.
Worth saying because the naming genuinely confuses people, and because searches for “vinyl flooring vancouver” land on these pages from people three thousand kilometres away.
Thickness is not the same as durability
At 8 to 10 mm, Riche is noticeably thicker than the 5 mm vinyl most brands sell. That makes the floor feel more solid underfoot and bridges minor subfloor dips better. What it does not do is make the surface last longer – that is the wear layer, and this range has both 20 mil and 12 mil.
A 10 mm board with a 12 mil wear layer will feel substantial and still show traffic in a hallway within a few years. Check both numbers, not just the one on the front of the box.
What to check before you buy
Wear layer, not thickness. 20 mil for hallways and rentals, 12 mil for bedrooms.
Floor height. A 10 mm board plus underlay is a tall build-up – check it against doors and appliances.
Whether a pad is attached, which affects underlay and what a condo board will accept.
What it costs installed
Floating laminate and click vinyl are from $3.20 per square foot, glue-down vinyl from $5.50 including glue, and engineered hardwood nailed or glued from $4.90 including glue and nails. Taking up your old floor is included, the floor itself is priced on top, and the full list is on our flooring installation cost page. For how we install it, see our page on vinyl flooring installation in Toronto.

Frequently asked questions
Is Riche flooring waterproof?
It is rigid-core vinyl, built for wet areas, and the sheets describe it as waterproof. That refers to the plank – water getting underneath a floating floor still has to be dried out.
Why are Riche collections named after cities?
It is simply how the brand names its ranges. The Toronto Collection is the largest at 42 products; it is not manufactured locally, and the Vancouver and Montreal collections are equally available to you here in the GTA.
How thick is Riche flooring?
8, 9 and 10 mm depending on collection, which is thicker than the 5 mm typical of budget vinyl. It feels more solid and bridges small subfloor imperfections better, but thickness does not affect how well the surface wears – that is the wear layer.
What wear layer should I choose?
20 mil for hallways, kitchens, entries and rentals. 12 mil is fine in a bedroom or a guest room. Both are in this range at similar thicknesses, so read the sheet rather than the board.
Can Riche go in a basement?
Yes, provided the slab is dry and flat. Rigid vinyl is among the better choices below grade. We test the concrete for moisture while we measure.
