NAF Floors@Work Flooring Review (2026)

An installer’s look at NAF Floors@Work: 187 products across vinyl, laminate and 18mm engineered hardwood, and what each costs installed in Toronto.

Quick answer

NAF Floors@Work is a three-part range and that is the first thing to understand about it: 187 products at 22FLOORING split across luxury vinyl, laminate and 18 mm engineered hardwood. The vinyl and laminate float with an attached or separate IXPE underpad; the 18 mm hardwood is the premium end. Wear layers run 0.5 mm (20 mil) on most sheets and 0.3 mm (12 mil) on the entry lines, and warranties are typically 30-year residential with 5-year light commercial. We have no customer reviews of Floors@Work to show you, so this is an installer’s assessment built from the specification sheets. Installed by 22FLOORING, floating floors are from $3.20 per square foot and glue-down from $5.50 including glue.

Where the numbers come from

Every figure below comes from the spec sheets of the 187 NAF Floors@Work products on our site as of September 2026. Where a sheet does not state something, we say so. We have not run our own wear tests and we do not give star ratings.

The three parts of the range

Wear layer0.5 mm / 20 mil on 65 sheets, 0.3 mm / 12 mil on 14. The thicker layer is the one to want in a hallway or a rental

UnderpadAttached IXPE on many vinyl sheets – 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm HUSSSH, or 1.5 mm waffle EVA. Where a pad is attached you do not buy underlay separately

FinishDeep textured on 60 sheets, with UV lacquer ceramic on a few
Warranty30-year residential with 5-year light commercial on 47 sheets, 15-year residential with 5-year light commercial on 29

The attached underpad is the part worth knowing

A large share of the vinyl sheets list an attached IXPE pad, usually 1.5 mm or 2 mm. That saves you buying underlay and it saves a step on site, but it has two consequences people are not told about.

First, an attached pad sets the acoustic performance, and a condo board that demands a specific sound rating may not accept it. Get the building’s requirement in writing before you order. Second, an attached pad does not flatten a bad subfloor. A soft pad over a dip still telegraphs the dip, and on a floating floor it can click underfoot. Levelling comes first either way.

Which part suits which job

18 mm engineered hardwood for a main floor where you want real wood and a substantial board underfoot. This is the top of the range.

12 mm laminate for bedrooms and upper floors on a budget, where there is no standing water. The waterproof laminate line extends that to kitchens.

5 to 9 mm vinyl for basements, condos and rentals, and anywhere water is a real possibility. See the wider vinyl range.

What to check before you buy

Which of the three you are looking at. An 18 mm hardwood and a 5 mm vinyl are different floors at different prices, and the brand name on the box is the same.

Floating or glued. This is the single biggest swing in what installation costs, and it is decided by the sheet, not by the category. Ask us and we will read it for you.

The wear layer. 12 mil is fine for a spare bedroom and thin for a hallway with a dog. 20 mil is the one to pay for in a busy house.

What it costs installed

Floating laminate and click vinyl are from $3.20 per square foot. Glue-down vinyl is from $5.50 including glue. Engineered hardwood that is nailed or glued is from $4.90 including glue and nails, and engineered that only clicks and floats is from $3.20. Taking up your old floor is included, the floor itself is priced on top, and the full list is on our flooring installation cost page. Frequently asked questions

Is NAF Floors@Work waterproof?

The AquaSelect, Aqua Platinum and Aqua Luuuz vinyl lines and the 12 mm Waterproof Laminate are built for water. The standard 12 mm laminate and the 18 mm engineered hardwood are not waterproof floors. Check the individual product page, because the brand covers both.

Does Floors@Work need underlay?

Many of the vinyl sheets list an attached IXPE or EVA pad, in which case you do not buy underlay separately. The laminates and the hardwood generally do need underlay. Your condo board may require a specific acoustic rating regardless, so get that in writing first.

How thick is the wear layer?

0.5 mm, which is 20 mil, on most of the range, and 0.3 mm or 12 mil on the entry lines. Twenty mil is what we would put in a hallway, a kitchen or a rental.

Can it go in a basement?

The vinyl lines, yes, provided the slab is dry and flat. We test the slab for moisture while we measure. Laminate and engineered hardwood are a harder argument below grade and we will tell you straight if the basement is not right for them.

What is the warranty?

Most sheets list 30-year residential with 5-year light commercial, and some list 15-year residential with the same commercial term. The warranty covers the product, not the installation – our installation carries its own two-year warranty.
