Whitney is a taupe white oak floor from Richmond Flooring's Summit collection, built as engineered wood on a multi-ply core rather than cut from one solid piece. Boards are 3/4" thick and 6" wide and arrive in random lengths from 16" to 75", so the finished floor avoids an obvious repeating pattern. The surface is wire brushed and sealed with a low gloss UV finish, which hides everyday scuffing better than a shiny coat does. It can go over radiant heat when the installation instructions are followed, and the tongue and groove boards may be floated, glued or stapled depending on what is underneath.
