Power Dekor Flooring Review (2026)
An installer’s look at Power Dekor: 88 products across laminate, SPC vinyl and engineered hardwood, the Endura and Reaktions lines, and what they cost installed in Toronto.

Quick answer
Where the numbers come from
Every figure below comes from the spec sheets of the 88 Power Dekor products on our site as of September 2026. Where a sheet does not state something, we say so rather than fill the gap. We have not run our own wear tests and we do not give star ratings. Individual collections vary and every product page shows its own numbers.
The range side by side
Click systems, and why the name matters
Most of this range uses Uniclic Droploc or UNIDROP. Both are drop-lock systems: the short end of the plank drops into place rather than needing to be tapped along its length. On site that means less hammering on board edges and fewer damaged planks in a room full of cuts around cabinets and doorframes.
For you it means two things. The floor floats, so installation is $3.20 per square foot rather than $5.50. And it can be lifted later without destroying the boards, which matters in a rental or a room you expect to change.
The 12 mm laminate is the volume seller
34 sheets sit at 12 mm, which is the thick end of laminate. A 12 mm board feels considerably more solid underfoot than the 7 or 8 mm laminate sold at the budget end, and it handles an imperfect subfloor better because it bridges small dips instead of flexing into them.
It is still laminate. It is not waterproof unless the sheet says so, and it cannot be refinished. In bedrooms, hallways and living rooms with no standing water, it is a sensible floor at a sensible price. See the wider laminate range.
What to check before you buy
Laminate, vinyl or wood. All three sit under the Power Dekor name and the collection names do not tell you which.
Glue-down versus click. Eight sheets are dry-back glue down, which costs $2.30 per square foot more to install.
Loose lay needs a flat floor. Eight sheets are loose lay, which is quick but unforgiving of a subfloor nobody levelled.
What it costs installed
Floating laminate and click vinyl are from $3.20 per square foot, glue-down vinyl from $5.50 including glue, and engineered hardwood nailed or glued from $4.90 including glue and nails. Engineered that only clicks and floats is from $3.20. Taking up your old floor is included, the floor itself is priced on top, and the full list is on our flooring installation cost page. For how we install it, see our pages on vinyl flooring installation in Toronto and laminate flooring installation in Toronto.

Frequently asked questions
Is Power Dekor laminate waterproof?
Some lines are and some are not, and the sheet is the only reliable answer. A 12 mm laminate handles a spill wiped up promptly; none of them handle standing water. If you want a genuinely waterproof floor, the SPC vinyl lines are the ones to look at.
What is Uniclic Droploc?
A click system where the short end of the plank drops into place rather than being tapped along. It is faster to fit, puts less stress on board edges, and the floor floats – so it costs $3.20 per square foot to install rather than $5.50 for a glue-down.
How thick is Power Dekor flooring?
12 mm on 34 sheets, which is the thick end of laminate, and 5.3, 6 and 7 mm across the vinyl. A few engineered hardwood sheets run to 18 mm. Thicker is not automatically better – it is about what your subfloor and doorways allow.
Is Power Dekor good for a basement?
The SPC vinyl lines, yes, provided the slab is dry and flat. Laminate below grade is a harder argument and we will say so if your basement is not suitable. We test the concrete for moisture while we measure.
What does DiamondGard mean?
It is Power Dekor’s name for a double anti-scratch coating, listed on 9 of the sheets we hold. It helps with surface scuffing from grit and furniture. No coating makes a floor scratch-proof, and felt pads under chair legs still do more than any surface treatment.
