Pravada Floors Review (2026)
An installer’s look at Pravada Floors: 61 European white oak products, 35-year warranties, and what they cost installed in Toronto.

Quick answer
Where the numbers come from
Every figure below comes from the spec sheets of the 61 Pravada products on our site as of September 2026. Where a sheet does not state something, we say so rather than fill the gap. We have not run our own wear tests and we do not give star ratings.
The range side by side
UV oil is a genuinely different floor
Fourteen sheets use a UV oil with matte lacquer rather than a straight lacquer, and this is the most consequential choice in the range.
A lacquered floor has a film sitting on the wood; you are walking on the coating. An oiled floor has the oil in the wood; you are walking on the timber itself. Oiled floors look and feel more natural, and crucially they can be spot-repaired – a scratch can be re-oiled in place, where a lacquered floor has to be sanded across the whole room. The trade is maintenance: an oiled floor wants re-oiling every few years, a lacquered one does not.
If you have dogs or children and want a floor you can touch up rather than refinish, the oiled collections are worth the conversation.
European white oak, and why it costs more
European white oak is cut from slower-grown timber than North American oak, giving a tighter, more even grain that takes stain more predictably. It is generally available in longer and wider boards, which is why almost every premium wide-plank range uses it.
It is not harder or more durable than American white oak in any meaningful way. You are paying for appearance and board size, not longevity.
What to check before you buy
Oiled or lacquered – it changes how you maintain and repair the floor for its whole life.
Which installation method your quote assumes – stapling or gluing is $4.90, floating is $3.20.
The veneer thickness if refinishing matters.
What it costs installed
Floating laminate and click vinyl are from $3.20 per square foot, glue-down vinyl from $5.50 including glue, and engineered hardwood nailed or glued from $4.90 including glue and nails. The flooring is priced separately and the full list is on our flooring installation cost page.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an oiled and a lacquered Pravada floor?
A lacquered floor has a film on top of the wood; an oiled floor has oil in the wood. Oiled floors can be spot-repaired – a scratch is re-oiled in place – while a lacquered floor must be sanded across the whole room. Oiled floors need re-oiling every few years; lacquered ones do not.
Is European white oak better than American oak?
Not in durability. European white oak has a tighter, more even grain and comes in longer and wider boards, which is why premium wide-plank ranges use it. You are paying for appearance and board size, not longevity.
What does the 35-year warranty cover?
Manufacturing defects and finish failure under normal domestic use. It does not cover scratches, dents, water damage or the installation. Our installation carries its own two-year warranty.
Can Pravada be floated over concrete?
Sixty of the 61 sheets allow staple, float or glue, so yes. Floating is also the cheaper installation at $3.20 per square foot. We test the slab for moisture and flatness while we measure.
Is Pravada solid or engineered hardwood?
Engineered, in European white oak. That is what allows the wide boards to stay flat through Toronto’s humidity swings, and what lets the floor go over concrete where solid hardwood cannot.
