Flooring Installation in Toronto
Installation from $3.20 per sq ft
Licensed · Insured to $2M · WSIB
Toronto homes cover every kind of flooring job: condo towers downtown and along the lake on concrete, older semis and detached houses with plywood subfloors, post-war bungalows in Etobicoke and Scarborough, and newer townhouses in between. Each one needs a different floor and a different install.
We supply and install hardwood, engineered hardwood, vinyl, laminate and tile across the city, and we rebuild staircases. Installation starts at $3.20 per square foot with your old floor’s removal included, and every quote is free and fixed in writing before anything starts.
What we install in Toronto
Most Toronto jobs are one of three: engineered hardwood through a house, waterproof vinyl in a basement or condo, or laminate where the budget matters most. Engineered hardwood is $4.90 per square foot glued or nailed, or $3.20 if it clicks and floats. Click vinyl and laminate are $3.20, glue-down vinyl $5.50 with the glue, solid hardwood $4.50 and floor tile $13.50 with the setting materials extra.
Taking up your old floor is included, and the floor itself is priced on top: choose from over 5,000 floors we supply, or we install your own. Herringbone and chevron are quoted per job. The full list is on our flooring installation cost in Toronto page.
Toronto condos
Condo floors sit on concrete, so solid hardwood, which is nailed down, is out. Engineered hardwood, vinyl or laminate go down glued or floated over the slab.
Most Toronto buildings set a minimum sound rating for what goes under the floor and want the service elevator booked. We use an acoustic underlay that meets the rating your building sets, give your property manager its sound-rating sheet for approval, and work inside the building’s hours. Insurance certificates and WSIB papers are available on request. More in our condo flooring guide.
Staircases
After the floor itself, a carpeted staircase is one of the most common things Toronto homeowners ask us to change. New hardwood treads and risers go over the existing structure, with new newel posts, spindles and a handrail, stained to match the floor.
A straight flight is usually about $7,000 and three to four days, and you can use the stairs every night. A curved flight runs closer to $10,000. See staircases we have done in East York and our staircase renovation guide.
How a job runs
Four steps: we come and measure with samples, you choose the floor, we agree a date, and we install. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts, and that is what you pay unless hidden damage turns up under the old floor, which we show you and price first. Most homes are finished in one to three days.
We install across the rest of the GTA too: North York, Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, Richmond Hill and Woodbridge and Vaughan.
