What we install

Here are the labour rates in plain figures, before anyone comes out to the house.

Your own material
We will lay flooring you sourced yourself once we have looked at the product and approved it. Weak material fails early and our name stays on the finished floor, so if you are unsure, send over the spec sheet and you will get a straight answer.

What does flooring installation cost in Markham?

Glue-down vinyl runs $5.50 per sq ft with the adhesive counted in, solid hardwood sits at $4.50, and engineered hardwood at $4.90 per sq ft once nails and glue are added. One remodelled flight of stairs usually lands near $7,000. Tile gets a figure in your free quote.
Can you work in a Downtown Markham or Highway 7 condo?
Yes. Suites sitting above the parking levels are on concrete, so the floor gets floated over an underlay rather than nailed. Ask your property manager for the building rules before ordering anything, because boards commonly set a sound rating for underlay and want the service elevator and loading area booked for delivery day. Pass whatever they give you to us and we will build the floor to suit.
There is hardwood in part of our older Unionville home. Can you match it?
Often, yes. We bring samples to the free quote and compare species, board width and finish against what is already down. The catalogue holds 101 solid hardwood and 1,585 engineered options, so something close is usually available, and where a true match is not realistic we say so and suggest a clean break at a doorway instead.
Our builder-grade floor in Cornell is worn out. What replaces it well?
The newer subdivisions here tend to have plywood subfloors and an open main level, which suits a wide engineered plank or a solid SPC vinyl carried in one direction across the whole floor. Engineered that clicks and floats costs $3.20 per sq ft to install, the same rate as laminate.
Can the stairs be done at the same time as the floors?
Yes, and that is the tidier way round. Remodelling puts new treads, risers and railings over the existing stringers, stained to match the new floor. Allow about $7,000 for each flight.
