Signature

Signature is the biggest line in Appalachian Flooring's range, with 47 styles across five species: red oak, hard maple, birch, hickory and white oak. It is also the only Appalachian line with a choice of sheen, since each colour can be finished semi-gloss or ultra-matte over a smooth surface. Semi-gloss shows off the grain in a formal dining room, while ultra-matte is kinder to scratches in a busy kitchen or hallway.

Birch, including Biscotti, Cappuccino and Sonora, is solid only, in 2 1/4", 3 1/4" or 4 1/4" widths. The other species can also be ordered engineered, 11.4 mm or 18.4 mm thick. White oak and hard maple go up to 7" wide in engineered form, red oak comes 4" or 5", and hickory is 5" engineered or 3 1/4" solid. Colour names such as Natural, Gunstock and Chardonnay repeat across species, so you can compare the same tone in oak, maple or hickory. Pick 3/4" solid for a wood subfloor upstairs or on the main floor, and engineered for a slab or condo.
