Vinyl Flooring

Vinyl flooring has become the go-to choice for kitchens, basements and condos because much of it is waterproof, warm underfoot and quiet to walk on. Today's vinyl comes in several very different builds, so the right one depends on the room, the subfloor and how you want it installed.

What we carry. Our catalogue has close to 3,000 vinyl floors from 32 brands, including MSI, Stevens Omni, COREtec, Shaw Floors, Next Floor, Beaulieu and Fuzion, in wood, stone and tile looks.

SPC, WPC or glue-down? SPC (stone plastic composite) has a rigid, dense core that stays stable when temperatures change, which makes it a strong all-round choice, including basements. WPC (wood plastic composite) has a thicker, slightly softer core that feels more cushioned underfoot. Both usually click together and float. Glue-down vinyl, often called LVT or dryback, is thinner and bonded to the subfloor, which suits commercial spaces and rooms where floor height matters. A smaller group of products is loose lay.

Wear layer. The clear top layer takes the daily wear. On our products it is most often 12 mil or 20 mil, with some lines at 28 or 30 mil. 12 mil is fine for bedrooms and lighter use, while 20 mil or more is the better pick for kitchens, hallways, kids and pets.

Pads and sound. Many click vinyl floors come with an attached pad of foam, IXPE or cork, so there is no separate underlay to buy. Condo buildings often set a minimum sound rating for new floors, and hundreds of our vinyl products list IIC and STC sound ratings, so check your building's rules before you choose.

Installation. Click vinyl floats over a flat subfloor. Glue-down vinyl needs an even flatter, clean subfloor because every dip shows through. We check the subfloor and prepare it before installing.
