Atomic Xtra

Water resistance is what separates this HydraPlanks line from the standard Atomic planks. Beaulieu lists it in the water-resistant sub category, which makes it a sensible laminate for kitchens, entryways and main-floor powder rooms where spills and wet boots are part of daily life. Wipe up standing water promptly, as you would with any laminate.

Otherwise the build is familiar: 8 mm total thickness, a 7.598" (193 mm) width and micro-bevelled edges on four sides. The aluminum oxide surface has a lightly embossed, extreme mat look, and an AC4 Class 32 abrasion rating for general commercial use means it stands up to pets and children. Planks drop and lock together on the Välinge 5G system. Underlay is not pre-attached, so plan for a separate pad.

Eight colours are offered, each carrying the Xtra name: Scandium, Rhodium, Nitrogen, Manganese, Iridium, Fluorine, Francium and Chromium. All are oak except Francium, which is elm. 22FLOORING supplies and installs Atomic Xtra across Toronto and the GTA, with laminate installation from $3.20 per square foot.
