Casting

Casting is a 12 mm European white oak plank, 7.48 inches (190 mm) wide, built on a eucalyptus core with a sliced 2 mm veneer on top. The boards join with tongue and groove and have a micro bevel on all four sides. At 12 mm overall it is a slimmer engineered floor, which helps at doorways where it has to meet tile or an existing floor.

A lightly wire-brushed surface sits under a UV-cured urethane in a matte sheen. Some colours are smoked as well, including Taylor, Grant, Foster and Costner. The grade is Classic, and the line is rated for residential use, so think living rooms, bedrooms and main floors. A urethane top coat needs little more than sweeping and a damp mop to keep clean.

Casting has 12 colours: Taylor, Sarandon, Monroe, Hopkins, Hepburn, Grant, Gibson, Garland, Foster, Davis, Costner and Andrews. 22FLOORING supplies and installs Casting across Toronto and the GTA, with engineered hardwood installation from $4.90 per square foot, including glue and nails.
