Planet

Planet is Simba Flooring's SPC tile and the only tile format in the Simba range, with pieces 606 mm by 303 mm instead of long planks. A rectangular tile suits kitchens, bathrooms, powder rooms and laundry rooms. The stone plastic composite core is waterproof and rigid, so spills, splashes and wet boots are not a worry.

The tiles are 5 mm thick and carry an attached 1.5 mm IXPE underlayment, which adds cushion and cuts down on the hollow, clicky sound hard floors can make. Nothing extra goes underneath, and the surface has an embossed texture. The wear layer is 0.3 mm, lighter than on Simba's Galaxy and Venus lines, so Planet does best in rooms with moderate traffic rather than a busy mudroom shared with large dogs.

There are three designs, each sold under a product code. 22FLOORING supplies and installs Planet across Toronto and the GTA, with vinyl installation from $3.20 per square foot.
