Madrid is sold by Home’s Pro as a waterproof laminate rather than vinyl, even though it sits in the vinyl section. It is a thick board at 12.0 mm, which gives a solid, wood-like feel underfoot, and it carries an AC4 abrasion rating, the class used for busy households and light commercial spaces.

Planks are 7.68" x 48" with an embossed-in-register finish, so the texture lines up with the printed grain, and painted bevelled edges that define each board. They click together with a Unilin locking system and float over the subfloor. Sound ratings are STC 60 and IIC 61. Waterproof laminate is a good match for kitchens, entries and family rooms where spills happen, though standing water should still be wiped up promptly. A box has 8 planks and covers 20.4 sq ft.
