Exotics Collection

Exotics brings Pravada's hardwood into species other than oak. Brazilian Black Cherry and Brazilian Cherry are jatoba, Natural Sapele is sapele, and Brazilian Toffee is sirari. These are dense woods, with Janka hardness from 1510 for the sapele up to 2350 for jatoba and 2820 for sirari, so they resist dents from dropped pots and pet traffic better than softer species.

Every plank is 1/2 x 5 inches (12 x 127 mm) in random lengths from 18 to 84 inches. The top layer is a sliced 2 mm veneer, the core has 9 plies joined by tongue and groove, and every edge is microbevelled. The two jatoba colours have a smooth surface and an Endura aluminum oxide finish. Grading is ABC or AB depending on the colour. All four meet CARB2 compliance, and installation can be by staple, glue or floating.

Radiant heat needs some thought here. The jatoba colours are approved, but sapele and sirari are marked as needing special care over heated floors, so talk to us first. A box covers 46.59 sq ft. 22FLOORING supplies and installs Exotics across Toronto and the GTA, with engineered hardwood installation from $4.90 per square foot, including glue and nails.
