Residence Collection

Residence is a mixed group rather than one plank size. Its four colours come in three species: Uptown in white oak, Wrought Iron and Cobblestone in maple, and Espresso Hickory in hickory. What they share is a 1/2 inch (12 mm) thickness, a 9-ply tongue and groove base topped with a sliced 2 mm veneer, microbevelled edges and an Endura coating.

Sizes and textures vary. Wrought Iron and Cobblestone are 7.5 inches (190 mm) wide in lengths of 16 to 75 inches, handscraped, with medium board variation. Espresso Hickory is 6.5 inches (165 mm) wide, also handscraped, and rated 1820 on the Janka scale, a sensible pick for a house with dogs. Uptown is a 5-inch (127 mm) plank, wire brushed and smoked, rated 1450.

Every colour can be stapled, glued or floated. Three are approved for radiant heat, but Espresso Hickory is not, so leave it out of rooms with heated floors. 22FLOORING supplies and installs Residence across Toronto and the GTA, with engineered hardwood installation from $4.90 per square foot, including glue and nails.
