European Oak 5 Herringbone Collection

European Oak is the difference here. Four of the five colours, Yukon, Toffee Crunch, Clear and Banff, are listed as European Oak herringbone, and the fifth, Silver Stone, is listed with Vidar's American White Oak herringbone specs.

All of them are 5 inch boards, 3/4 inch thick, with a 3 mm veneer and a wire brushed face. Select and Select and Better grades are available across the line, which keeps the zigzag clean and even. At full 3/4 inch thickness the floor feels solid underfoot, and the layered engineered build handles seasonal humidity better than solid wood.

A herringbone floor is set out from a centre line and each short board is fitted by hand, so it is best planned for rooms where it will be noticed, like a front entrance, dining room or main living area.
