Expedition

Expedition planks measure 8.858 inches across and 8.5 mm thick, a wide, substantial board for open-plan main floors and larger rooms. They are HydraLuxe engineered vinyl with a WPC core, and a 1.5 mm cork backing comes fixed to every plank, so there is no separate underlay to buy. With IIC 72 and STC 71 sound ratings, it is a good candidate for condo buildings that set noise limits.

Installation uses the Välinge 5G drop lock. Each short end presses straight down into the row before it, which keeps the job moving in hallways and closets where angling boards is awkward. A UV-cured acrylic surface with a mat look carries a general commercial rating and meets the E1 formaldehyde class. Most colours have a medium embossed texture, Pecan is handscraped, and Pinenut has registered embossing.

Twelve colours are available: Acorn, Barley, Caraway, Gingko, Hanza, Hazelnut, Karuka, Macadamia, Marcona, Nigella, Pecan and Pinenut. 22FLOORING supplies and installs Expedition across Toronto and the GTA, with vinyl installation from $3.20 per square foot.
